Celebrating the semiquincentennial of the United States' independence, the Treasury is considering the production of a $1 coin showing President Trump with a tightened fist under an US flag and the inscription “fight, fight, fight”.

Historical Link

These words overtly refers to what Trump exclaimed immediately after surviving an assassination effort a few months before he won a second term.

Government Announcement

US Brandon Beach publicly revealed a concept of the coin on Friday via an online platform, commenting: “Absolutely real. These concepts honoring America’s 250th birthday and [Trump] are real.”

The social media post – which amplified another account discussing the proposed design – stated that Beach looked “excited to reveal additional details” after the end of the temporary shutdown that began after late Wednesday when Democratic senators insisting on changes on medical care and other spending priorities declined to offer the approval necessary to pass a majority-backed funding bill.

Legal History

As reported, in 2020, at the end of his first administration, Trump approved bipartisan legislation permitting the Treasury chief to mint $1 coins during the upcoming anniversary year that are “emblematic of the United States semiquincentennial”.

Design Components

One side of the coin on whose draft design Beach weighed in this week displayed Trump’s profile alongside “Liberty”, “In God we Trust”, and “1776-2026”.

Official Statement

A response from a Treasury representative stated that the proposal which Beach’s online update discussed was not the “definitive coin design”. But the comment maintained that “this draft reflects well the persistent ethos of our country and republic, even in the face of significant challenges”.
